Jharkhand CM Announces Plan to Overhaul Healthcare System

Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has launched a major initiative to revamp the state's healthcare system, aiming to create a comprehensive network of medical facilities across the state. In a review meeting with health department officials, the chief minister emphasized the need for setting up a health circuit that would enable patients to receive better care through a strategic redistribution of services.

The proposed network, which will link all medical colleges, hospitals, and district health facilities, is designed to alleviate the burden on individual healthcare facilities. Soren urged officials to work towards ensuring that all government hospitals operate 24/7 and to invest in modernizing community health centres and district hospitals.

Patients and their families have repeatedly complained about poor management and inadequate services at state-run hospitals. The CM acknowledged these concerns, stating that "complaints of mismanagement in hospitals are often received through various mediums." He tasked hospital authorities with strengthening capacity and infrastructure to facilitate seamless access to treatment information and other essential resources.

In a related development, Soren expressed alarm over the rising number of cancer patients in the state. In an effort to address this growing concern, he has asked officials to compile a comprehensive database of all cancer patients, paving the way for his government to implement targeted treatments and healthcare initiatives.
