JAMMU STUDENTS' ORGANISATION Kicks Off Academic Year with New Unit at GGM Science College

In a significant development, the Jammu Joint Students’ Federation (JJSF) has announced its new unit for GGM Science College, marking the beginning of a fresh chapter in student governance. The inauguration ceremony was attended by key state and district leaders, as well as prominent academics.

According to sources, the newly elected team led by president Ritik Verma aims to uplift students' concerns while fostering an inclusive academic environment. Notably, 18-year-old Rajveer Singh has been bestowed with the task of leading first-year students, followed by Seha Sharma and Nirmal Sharma as co-incharges for second-year students.

The unit's general secretaries include Arjun Sharma, Anchal Thakur, and Rajvir Singh, among others. It is worth noting that the establishment of a new student organisation at educational institutions has been under heated debate, resulting in agitation in 1966, prompting Keshav Malhotra to advocate for the renaming of colleges after student martyrs.

State vice-president Atul Sudan voiced words of encouragement to the new leadership, urging them to be strong voices for students. District Jammu president, Manish Khullar emphasized moving forward under a spirit of sacrifice and honouring the sentiments of 1966 students' agitation.

Prominent leaders including Raghav Singh, Nishakar Sharma, Amit Verma, Bhanu, and Bharat Verma were seen in attendance at the inauguration ceremony.
