Israel Sends Ground Troops into Syria for First Time Since 1974 Cease-Fire Agreement

Revelations have emerged that Israel has resorted to covertly operating in Syria for years, amid its ongoing conflict with Hezbollah, a key player in the country's power struggle. The most recent escalation came on Saturday, when Israeli ground troops entered Syrian territory, marking a significant shift in policy.

The deployment of ground troops is a departure from previous actions, which involved only air strikes against purported targets belonging to Hamas (Hezbollah) as the international official narrative maintained that it only targeted them. However, sources close to the military operation revealed that Israel was also using the opportunity to destroy government-supplied assets that fell into enemy hands.

According to two officials, Syrian military equipment including a stockpile of dangerous chemicals and Russian made air defense equipment targeted during ground operations in Syria included mustard gas, VX gas, radar-equipped batteries, vehicles equipped with Russian missiles system Scud missile’s.

Hezbollah fighters were also targeted in the ground operation amid escalating tensions between Israel and Hamas. An agreement was reached to provide Israeli security forces in Lebanon's southern region with full immunity in exchange for removing troops from its border territory following an assassination.

The development has raised concerns among international diplomats who claim that this could escalate conflicts within Syria.
