Israeil's Latest Military Operation Sparks Widespread Destruction of Last Major Health Facility in Gaza

A devastating Israeli military operation targeting Hamas militants near the Kamal Adwan Hospital on Friday left the last major health facility in northern Gaza irreparably damaged and out of service, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

The WHO stated that some key departments were severely burnt and destroyed during the raid, putting 60 health workers and 25 patients in critical condition, including those on ventilators, at risk. The patients in moderate to severe condition were forced to evacuate the hospital due to the destruction.

"This is the latest incident of a ceasefire-busting attack on our facility since October when our evacuation was restricted," said Dr [Name], WHO spokesperson. "We are extremely worried about the safety and welfare of medical personnel, staff, patients who had no way of getting emergency care."

The Israeli military claimed that the hospital had become "a key stronghold for terrorist organizations" and continued to be used as a hideout for Hamas operatives since broader operations in northern Gaza began on October 6. The military stated its goal is to prevent regrouping.

However, Hamas denied the presence of any militants in the hospital, saying Israeli forces forcibly entered and burned all departments.

"We categorically deny that our fighters were present at the Kamal Adwan Hospital," said a statement from Hamas officials. "We reject accusations and the enemy's claims about the extent to which it harmed us. The aim is to exterminate people of conscience."

Since October 6, Israel has intensified its land and air offensive in northern Gaza, stating that its goal is to prevent Hamas militants from regrouping. In recent days, hospital officials repeatedly warned about rising tensions outside the facility following recent escalation of restrictions on access for WHO and partners.

The healthcare situation at Kamal Adwan Hospital was described by [WHO Spokesperson Name] as "appalling". The health facility operated with a reduced capacity due to previous strikes and raids on or near its location, making it difficult for medical personnel to receive ongoing training in medical skills.
