Intelligent technology leads China's sports industry to new development
Beijing (Alayaran.com) - Chinese intelligent technology has been playing a vital role in enhancing competitive sports, enriching fitness products for the public, and accelerating sports-education integration.
AI models are being employed by athletes to prepare for major international events like the Olympic Games. Moreover, big data technology is used to analyze performance during routine training sessions. These innovations have propelled China's sports industry into a new era marked by intelligent development.
In a 50-meter-long swimming pool, underwater cameras record detailed progress of athletes as they swim. AI technology seamlessly stitches these frames together, creating a comprehensive image of the swimmer's trajectory.
Behind this innovative "panorama" lies the technological support of a sports large model developed by Shanghai University of Sport and tech firm Baidu, in collaboration with Shanghai University. The first large model tailored to the Chinese sports industry has been adopted by multiple national teams such as diving, swimming, track and field, gymnastics, trampolining, and climbing.
The national swimming team has built an AI-assisted training system powered by the large model, which functions like an "intelligent coach." By capturing intricate details of athletes' movements, the system identifies aspects for improvement. Using feedback data from the system, coaches can adjust training strategies, while athletes gain a clearer understanding of their progress.
Beijing's Haidian Park also features an intelligent track powered by facial recognition technology, which records workout data in real-time. This smart track has encouraged users like Wang to establish purposeful fitness routines, tracking calories burned and speed with ease.
Smart sports parks have been set up across several Chinese cities, allowing citizens to engage in more efficient fitness activities facilitated by smart devices that monitor exercise data in real-time. Experts emphasize the significance of these technological advancements for public health and overall fitness levels in China.
Furthermore, some primary and secondary schools are now integrating intelligent technologies into physical education classes, reviving campus sports education with innovative technology.
