Innovation Key to India's Centenary Independence: Expert
Nagpur, August 2024 - A renowned expert in technology and AI-based systems has emphasized the importance of innovation in creating wealth and making India a developed country by its centenary independence.
Padma Shri Sanghamitra Bandyopadhyay, director of the Indian Statistical Institute, shared her thoughts at the third international conference on 'Paradigm shifts in Communication, Embedded Systems, Machine Learning, and Signal Processing — PCEMS 2024', held at the Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT). The two-day conference brought together keynote speakers from India, Spain, and the USA to share knowledge with students and delegates.
Addressing students, Bandyopadhyay urged them to think outside-the-box and come up with innovative ideas. "Creation of knowledge and translating that knowledge into wealth are crucial for our country's progress," she said.
The conference, which was inaugurated by various dignitaries, featured workshops, talks, and technical sessions that allowed students to learn from the experts and network with companies involved in the tech industry.
According to Petia Radneva, a researcher from the University of Barcelona, VNIT has done a commendable job in organizing the conference, providing opportunities for students and speakers to collaborate and share knowledge.
The PCEMS 2024 conference also saw dignitaries visiting stalls from VNIT's Department of Electronics and Communication and private organizations. Jay Deepak, an Mtech student at VNIT, hailed the conference as a great platform for students to learn about different tech fields and network with companies that could help them in their careers.
