India's Economic Future Takes Shape at ET NOW Global Business Summit 2025

New Delhi (ET NOW News): Union Minister of Labour and Employment & Youth Affairs and Sports, Mansukh L. Mandaviya, has emphasized the crucial role of trade and business in driving India's economy, stating that the country lacks no potential to thrive.
In his special address at the 9th edition of ET NOW Global Business Summit 2025, Minister Mandaviya stressed that trade, business, and industry are vital for a country's economy. He recalled Chanakya's old saying that encouraged industrialists and traders will help in accmulating wealth, creating jobs, and paying tax to the state.
India has made significant progress under the Modi government, with the creation of opportunities for youth to come forward through startup and Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives. The minister highlighted that there were 4 unicorns 10 years ago and now have 118.
The union minister also emphasized the need for change and adoption of new ideas to grow and prosper. "If you want to grow, you will have to change with time," he added.
Launched under the theme 'Evolve, Emerge, Expand', the ET NOW Global Business Summit 2025 aims to bring together visionary leaders, policymakers, and innovators to shape the next phase of global growth. The summit features global CEOs, policymakers, and leading thinkers in attendance, discussing business transformation, policy shifts, and economic forces shaping tomorrow.
Speaking at the summit's Day 1 event, the Minister said that trade and industry are crucial for a nation's economy. "Whenever we were ahead in trade, we ruled the world," he mentioned.
