Indian Green Energy Firm Partners with DP World for Global Export of Green Fuels

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between Indian green energy company AM Green and international logistics giant DP World aims to establish a comprehensive infrastructure for the export of clean fuels, marking a significant milestone in the global transition towards a low-carbon economy.

The partnership, formalized through the MOU signed in December 2024, will see the two companies collaborate on exporting one million tonnes each of green ammonia and green methanol annually. AM Green's ambitious 1.3-GW green hydrogen-to-ammonia project in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, is set to become one of the world's largest green ammonia production facilities once operational.

The partnership will leverage DP World's extensive global logistics network and port operations, complemented by AM Green's expertise in green hydrogen and ammonia production. A comprehensive logistics and storage ecosystem will be developed, including bunkering infrastructure, port infrastructure development, and terminal development.

The initiative aims to facilitate the refueling of ships with clean fuels across strategic locations in Dubai, India, and Southeast Asia. Dedicated terminals will also be established in key import regions, including the EU, Far East, and the UAE, to ensure efficient delivery of green fuels.

"This strategic alliance combines our strengths, enabling a low-carbon economy and advancing global sustainability goals," stated Yuvraj Narayan, Group Deputy CEO and CFO of DP World. "Together, we'll play a pivotal role in shaping this transition."

AM Green has set an ambitious target of achieving five million tonnes of green ammonia production capacity by 2030, with the Kakinada project set to solidify India's position as a key player in the emerging green fuels market.

The partnership between AM Green and DP World marks a significant milestone in the global effort to decarbonize various sectors, including shipping and industry.
