Indian Government Unveils Ambitious Plan to Position Media Sector as Global Leader

New Delhi: In an effort to upgrade its media and entertainment sector into a global powerhouse, the Indian government is rolling out a multifaceted initiative aimed at nurturing skilled professionals. The "Skill India to Build India" concept was recently floated by Minister of State for Skill Development Jayant Chaudhary, along with MSDE Secretary Atul Kumar Tiwari.

This high-stakes meet-up unveiled ambitious strategies to transform the country's media and entertainment industries into global hotspots. Focusing on key sectors like broadcasting and Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comics (AVGC), the government is keenly aware of the immense potential for economic growth that lies ahead.

Aiding this expansion is the central role being played by the Media and Entertainment Skills Council (MESC). By harmoniously integrating skill innovations with industry breakthroughs, MESC promises to bolster Indian media talent against an often turbulent competitive landscape. This mission-driven approach will empower aspiring professionals with up-to-the-minute expertise, enabling them to seamlessly adapt in our increasingly interconnected digital world.

Praising this synergy, celebrated figures Padma Shri Dr. Shankar Mahadevan and distinguished actor Amit Behl reiterated the government's unwavering resolve towards talent-building initiatives. Likewise, pioneers like Dr. Anusha Srinivasan Iyer and Oscar-winning sound designer Dr. Resul Pookutty underscored MESC's vision of innovation without boundaries.

This newly ignited partnership promises to propel India onto a bold trajectory, marking it as an essential destination for skilled professionals eager to participate in a truly groundbreaking global narrative.
