Indian Duo Wins Bronze Medal in ISSF Shotgun World Cup

Kynan Chenai and Sabeera Haris have secured a historic bronze medal for India in the trap mixed team event at the ongoing ISSF Shotgun World Cup, which concluded on Sunday. The Indian duo edged past Turkey's Tolga Tuncer and Pelin Kaya 34-33 in the bronze-medal match, ensuring India wrapped up the tournament with a solitary medal.

China went on to claim gold after defeating Poland 42-39 in the final, while Poland took silver as they trailed behind by just five points. The victory marked a significant improvement for Indian shooters, who have been working towards regaining their footing in international competitions.

Kynan and Sabeera had qualified for the bronze match after finishing fourth among 34 teams in qualification with a total score of 142 from 75 shots each. Sabeera contributed 72 points (23, 25, 24) to the team, while Kynan added 70 points (23, 25, 22). Their performance marked an impressive recovery for Indian shooters, who had not won a medal in this event since the previous World Cup.

The second Indian pair, Shardul Vihan and Kirti Gupta, placed 17th with a combined score of 137, but their participation underscored India's growing strength in shotgun events. Neutral Athletes topped the overall medal standings with two golds from five events, while China followed with one gold and one silver.
