Indian Cricketer B Sai Sudharsan Undergoes Surgery, Anticipated to Miss Vijay Hazare Trophy
Mumbai: Indian cricketer B Sai Sudharsan, who currently plays for the Gujarat Titans (GT), has undergone surgery in London for a sports hernia and shared an update on social media yesterday. The 23-year-old batter expressed confidence that he will be back to full strength soon.
Following his surgery, Sudharsan stated, "Will be back stronger in no time." He recently made his international debut in ODIs and T20Is, however, it is now reported that he may miss the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy 50-over domestic tournament from December 21 to January 18 due to injury.
Before heading abroad for training, Sudharsan was part of India A's tour in Australia, where he scored notable innings. He also had a good stint in this season's two-part Ranji Trophy, scoring 82 against Saurashtra and 213 against Delhi in his only two innings.
The young batter was retained by GT ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction last month, with a price tag of INR 8.50 crore (approximately USD $1.1 million). He is being considered for inclusion in the India Test team, which makes this injury particularly concerning given its potential timing.
As cricket fans eagerly await his recovery, Sudharsan's optimistic outlook has lifted spirits among supporters and fellow players alike, demonstrating the young cricketer's resilience and dedication to his craft.
