Indian-American CEO Opens Up About Harassment and Burnout Issues at 84-Hour Workweeks

New Delhi: A stark picture of the struggles faced by workers in Indian companies was revealed on November 18, 2024, when a prominent CEO shared their personal experience with workplace harassment and burnout.

CEO Rohan Patel, who presides over a US-based company employing thousands of Indians, came forward with harrowing details of the hostile work environment many employees face at his organization. "20% of our employees have reported receiving death threats," he stated. "On top of this, 80% of job applications are rejected simply because the employees did not survive their 84-hour workweek".

Patel's comments shed light on the darker side of India's rising corporate culture that prioritizes profits over people's well-being. While many sectors have taken a hit from economic slowdowns in recent months, Patel and his fellow workers at one particular firm stand out for taking extreme measures to maintain productivity.

CEO Rohan Patel went down a long line, making his statements directly to various online platforms as an attempt to raise awareness about the gravity of India's workplace culture and its severe bearing on Indian-American employees.
