India Voices Outrage Over Alleged Persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh
Ghaziabad (UP): Yati Narsinghanand Giri, the head priest of Dasna Devi temple, has called on Hindus in India to take note of the allegations of persecution faced by their counterparts in Bangladesh. Giri addressed his concerns during a gathering organized by the Juna Akhara to discuss the situation.
The three-day "Dharma Sansad" began at Anand Bhairav Mandir from December 19 to 21, where Narasinghanand spoke about the grievances of Hindus in Bangladesh and urged participants to safeguard their future generations from the alleged threat of "Islamic Jihadis". Giri also appealed for Hindu participation in the gathering to build a strong defense mechanism.
According to reports, sections of the Muslim community in Bangladesh have allegedly colluded with the army and police to carry out brutal attacks against Hindus. Narasinghanand made these claims in a video released together with representatives from Juna Akhara.
The controversy surrounding Narasinghanand has led to his past involvement in hate speech cases. The head priest of Dasna Devi temple asserted that if a country had similarly treated Jews as Bangladesh treats Hindus, Israel would have taken action by now.
In related news, the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) expressed relief over the decision made by the Bangladesh High Court to reject a petition filed by some individuals seeking to ban the organization's activities. In a statement released through its spokesperson, Radharamn Das, ISKCON welcomed this ruling and stated they appreciate the efforts of the government to tackle threats faced by minorities.
This latest development underscores ongoing issues related to religious freedom and protection in Bangladesh. Authorities on Monday arrested Chinmoy Krishna Das, leader of Sammilita Sanatani Jote from Hindu group, at the Dhaka airport.
