India U-19 Women Cricket Team Roar Back to Victory Against Malaysia at ICC U19 T20 World Cup 2025
New Delhi, January 21, 2025: India's dreams of winning back-to-back titles in the ICC Women’s U19 T20 World Cup 2025 seem to be on track as they emerged victorious against Malaysia with a 10-wicket crushing win. Chasing down a modest target of 32, India reached their target in just 2.5 overs, proving their dominance over the Malaysian opponents.
Debutant Vaishnavi Sharma made an impressive start to her U-19 cricket career by claiming a hat-trick and taking five wickets for five runs off four overs. Aayushi Shukla also picked up three wickets, including one for eight runs. However, not a single Malaysian batswoman could score more than nine runs.
The Indian team opted to bowl first after winning the toss, and their impressive performance bowled out Malaysia for 31 runs in 10 overs. The Indian Women's U-19 Cricket Team will now proceed to face Sri Lanka on January 23rd with high hopes of securing a spot in the semi-finals.
In group competition India played against the West Indies recently beating them for a small and single-digit target, after which their campaign took an extra turn as they dominated this match too with impressive display from spin and pace.
