India to Face Uphill Task Against Australia's Pace Attack in Border-Gavaskar Trophy: Former Australian Wicketkeeper Warns of Vulnerability

New Delhi, PTI ( News Desk): A warning has been sounded by former Australian wicket-keeper Brad Haddin that India struggles to match Australia's pace attack in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy. This warning is a pressing concern with the series set to begin from November 22 in Perth.

The Former Australian skipper had a candid conversation on LiSTNR Sport podcast regarding his thoughts on the series, expressing concerns about India's batting capabilities and their vulnerability when playing against the Australians' swift bowlers at Perth venue. He highlighted the potential struggle of Indian opening batsmen against Australia's formidable bowling attack. Haddin also emphasized that Jaiswal's abilities may not be sufficient to withstand Australia's "quick wickets."

Contrarily expressed by Aussie batter Aaron Finch, who thinks that the Australian batting order may face similar difficulties in handling India's fast-bowling attacks. However, he stresses the importance of opening batsmen and highlighted their potential struggles.

According to Finch the wicket-keepers Rishabh Patnt  and Alex Carey have been pivotal roles in Australian team strategy; opening will be hard work due to Australia's strong bowling attack. Both of these Australian players have shown a capacity to quickly change the game's trajectory by knocking off India's top order with their exceptional skill.
