India to Celebrate 76th Republic Day in 2025
New Delhi, January 20 (ANI): India is set to mark its 76th Republic Day on January 26, 2025, as it commemorates the adoption of its Constitution and its transition from a British colony to a republic nation.
The history of India's journey towards becoming a republic dates back to 1947, when the country gained independence from British rule. After decades of resistance and independence movements, the Constituent Assembly, under the chairmanship of Dr B.R. Ambedkar, drafted the Constitution between 1946 and 1949.
The Constitution was eventually adopted on November 26, 1949, but it did not come into effect until January 26, 1950. This marking a significant milestone in India's transition towards becoming an independent nation with its own governing rules and principles.
In light of this history, if we count the Republic Days from 1950 onwards, then India would be celebrating its 76th republic day in 2025. The announcement comes as the country prepares to celebrate the occasion with renewed pride and a sense of patriotism.
As the Tricolor fluttering proudly in the breeze symbolizes India's journey towards becoming a free nation, Republic Day remains an integral part of the country's calendar, serving as a reminder of its rich history and constitutional progress.
