India Secures Bronze Medal in ISSF Shotgun World Cup

New Delhi, December 9 - In a thrilling finale, Indian pair Kynan Chenai and Sabeera Haris secured a well-deserved bronze medal for the country, edging past Turkey's Tolga Tuncer and Pelin Kaya 34-33 in the trap mixed team event. The impressive display by the duo capped off an outstanding run by the Indian team, which ended with only one medal - but certainly enough to brighten up the nation's sporting mood.
Chenai and Haris had qualified for the bronze match after finishing fourth among 34 teams in qualification with a total score of 142 from 75 shots each. Sabeera contributed 72 (23, 25, 24), while Kynan added 70 (23, 25, 22). In contrast, Shardul Vihan and Kirti Gupta managed to place 17th with a combined score of 137.
Meanwhile, in the final event, China convincingly edged out Poland 42-39 to claim the gold medal. The Chinese victory marked the country's triumph on all fronts, as their Neutral Athletes topped the overall medal standings with two golds from five events. China followed China's stellar performance, with one gold and one silver to show for it.
The Spanish team, however, earned a respectable third place, sharing the top spot with Italy after winning each of its solo contests. Meanwhile, Poland secured the silver medal.
