IIT Kanpur Partners with Zynetic Electric Vehicles Charging to Drive Innovation in EV Charging Solutions

The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Zynetic Electric Vehicles Charging Private Limited, aiming to support the innovation and deployment of advanced AC and DC fast chargers for electric vehicles. The partnership, which was announced recently, aims to drive growth in India's expanding electric vehicle infrastructure.

As part of the MoU, IIT Kanpur and Zynetic plan to collaborate on research, academic exchange, and consultancy to address key challenges in EV charging technology. The areas of focus will include power electronics, embedded systems, and integrating artificial intelligence and machine learning for predictive maintenance.

"This partnership exemplifies how academia and industry can work together to enhance EV infrastructure and support India's environmental goals," said Prof. Manindra Agrawal, Director of IIT Kanpur. "Meeting the government's goal of 30% EV adoption by 2030 will require a broad charging network. This collaboration allows us to contribute to India's energy objectives and promote sustainable practices."

The partnership with Zynetic aligns with the Institute's research strengths and aims to develop reliable and efficient next-generation EV chargers to meet the needs of India's growing EV market.

"We are committed to promoting sustainable transportation in India," said Harshvardhan Tiwari, Founder and CEO of Zynetic Electric Vehicles Charging. "This collaboration supports our efforts to develop innovative EV charging solutions."

By integrating the expertise of IIT Kanpur with Zynetic's industry knowledge, the collaboration aims to make a meaningful impact on the advancement of EV technology and infrastructure in India.

The Indian government has set an ambitious target for the adoption of electric vehicles, aiming for 30% of new private vehicle registrations to be electric by 2030. With the partnership between IIT Kanpur and Zynetic Electric Vehicles Charging, the development of advanced EV charging solutions is well underway, supporting the growth of a sustainable energy future in India.
