IIT Gandhinagar's Amalthea Summit Wraps Up with Innovative Exhibits and Events

Gandhinagar, December 11, 2023 - The 15th edition of Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar’s (IITGN) student-run technical summit, Amalthea, concluded on Sunday with a blend of cutting-edge technology displays and engaging competitions. The event, which spanned over two days, featured a tech expo with participants from ISRO, the Indian Army, and Dronelab Technologies, along with a first-ever automotive exhibition showcasing the latest innovations from popular brands.
The summit was not just a platform for tech enthusiasts but also an educational opportunity for school students who visited in large numbers. Highlights included the "Wire to Win" challenge where participants designed and constructed functional circuits under time constraints, demonstrating their technical prowess.
One of the standout events was the RC Exp Racing, where remote-controlled car enthusiasts navigated a track with sharp turns and obstacles, drawing a significant crowd.
The tech expo was inaugurated by Nilesh Desai, Director of ISRO’s Space Applications Centre, who emphasized the role of failures in fostering personal and professional growth. "Don’t be afraid of failures. Learn from them," Desai advised the predominantly student audience.
The automotive exhibition was another major attraction, offering visitors the chance to test drive bikes from renowned companies like Kawasaki, BMW, Yamaha, Ultraviolette, Triumph, and Harley Davidson. The event's success has spurred plans to expand this feature in future editions.
Discussions on tech start-ups and entrepreneurship were also a focal point, with a panel including industry leaders like Prashant Mamtora of Havi.co, Hemen Ashodia of FXIS AI, and others, who shared their experiences and insights on the start-up ecosystem. Their talks highlighted the challenges and rewards of pursuing a career in technology and innovation.
Additionally, a symposium on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data analytics featured experts discussing the latest trends and future prospects in these rapidly evolving fields.
Lawannya Pramod Dakhane, a second-year Civil Engineering student and member of the organizing committee, reflected on the event's impact. "The Tech Expo at Amalthea brought together major innovators, showcasing their latest advancements in science and technology. It was inspiring to see the interaction between students and professionals like Nilesh Desai," she said.
The summit concluded with participants and visitors alike expressing enthusiasm for the next year's event, promising more innovative displays and educational opportunities.
