In a remarkable achievement, Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) in collaboration with professional team Evo India, attempted to set a Guinness World Records title for the Greatest altitude change by an electric car. The historic event was held on December 26, 2024, and saw the Hyundai IONIQ 5 proudly claiming the record with an astonishing altitude change of 5,802 meters.

The extraordinary journey began at Umling La in Leh Ladakh, India's highest drivable point, standing at 5,799 meters above sea level, and culminated in Kuttanad, Kerala, where it completed a mere three meters below sea level. This remarkable feat was achieved over the course of 14 days, with the Hyundai IONIQ 5 covering an impressive distance of over 4,900 kilometers while tackling some of India's most challenging landscapes.

The journey presented extreme conditions, including freezing temperatures and rugged mountain passes in the Himalayas, as well as humid coastal regions in Kerala. Despite these challenges, the Hyundai IONIQ 5 demonstrated its exceptional resilience and superior performance, affirming its position at the forefront of electric mobility.
