Hemant Soren Directs Strict Action Against Illegal Sand and Lottery Businesses Across Jharkhand

Ranchi, Dec 1: Chief Minister Hemant Soren has issued a directive to Deputy Commissioners (DCs) of districts across Jharkhand to take swift action against the illegal sand and lottery businesses, following recent social media reports of illicit sand transportation in Bokaro.

The CM emphasized the need for immediate intervention by local authorities as concerns over increasing instances of such activities grow. "I have directed the District Deputy Commissioners to immediately take action and ban the illegal sand and lottery businesses," said Soren.

Distributing authority, the CM urged DCs across districts to take proactively measures to curb these illegal activities. In particular, the CM has approached Dumka's DC to address the growing issue of banned lotteries that are negatively impacting local youth in the region.

The issue revolves around the influence exerted by young locals who have fallen prey to lottery scams, with their hard-earned money invested without yielding substantial returns, as many expect quick riches through such schemes.

Responding to a recent surge in social media reports highlighting this issue in Dumka, Chief Minister Hemant Soren expressed his strong disapproval for these lotteries' detrimental impact on local youth.
