Gujarat Government's Three-Day Brainstorming Session Focuses on Jobs, Tourism, and Local Promotion

ALARRYAN: Ahmedabad - A three-day 'Chintan Shivir' organised by the Gujarat government kicked off near the Somnath temple in Gir Somnath district on Thursday, aimed at brainstorming ways to enhance employment opportunities, raise village income, implement government schemes, and promote the tourism sector.

Under this session, a group discussion on sports promotion was conducted on the first day, with Minister of Sports and Youth Services Harsh Sanghavi participating. Other senior IAS officers also joined the discussion, aimed at motivating youths to take up sports.

The 11th Chintan Shivir was inaugurated by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel after offering prayers at the Shiva temple. A whopping contingent of ministers, top bureaucrats, department heads, and collectors are attending this brain trust session, which will focus on four key objectives – boosting job opportunities, improving villagers' income, implementing government schemes effectively, and pushing local tourism.

On another note, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel announced the allocation of 30,504 million cubic feet (MCFT) of Narmada water for supplementary irrigation and drinking purposes in North Gujarat and Saurashtra. To support farmers during the Rabi season crop sowing, the CM directed to release additional water through the Main Canal pipeline-based lifting system.

As per the announcement, 16,637 MCFT N armada water will be allocated for North Gujarat, while 13,867 MCFT will be assigned for Saurashtra region.
