Goyal Calls for Collaboration Between Industry and Government to Shape India's Economic Future

New Delhi - Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts between government and industry to achieve India's developmental goals and enhance its global economic standing during FICCI's 97th Annual General Meeting held in New Delhi yesterday.

Addressing the convention, Goyal highlighted India's growing global reputation as a premier growth engine and cited the nation's trustworthiness as a key factor building this standing. He urged businesses to adopt proactive approaches towards reducing compliance burdens and decriminalising laws that impede business development, further stressin[g] the need for quality standards to be established.

The minister stated that India's vision "Viksit Bharat 2047" aims to transform the nation into a developed country by 2047 and highlighted the role of global confidence in India as a quality goods and services producer. Goyal also explored the connection between cleanliness and economic development, proposing CSR initiatives focused on building toilets in schools.

Indian industries are set to reap benefits from FICCI's Swachh Industrial Parks Campaign and associated awards announced at the event. The organisation reiterated its commitment to the Prime Minister's Swachh Bharat mission, while keeping "Make-in-India" top of mind.

Underlining India's growth trajectory, Goyal described the nation as a trusted partner globally, stating that businesses are increasingly integrating into global value chains. FICCI has acknowledged the Prime Minister's ambitious development strategy and vowed to continue supporting its implementation.

As a growing hub for industrial development and economic progress, New Delhi witnessed heightened interest in clean governance during this year's convention, underscoring India's commitment to embracing sustainable growth patterns.
