Government Schools Triumph in Synquizitive Science Quiz Competition

BANGALORE, Dec 12 (PTI): In a boost to science education in government schools, Syngene International Ltd. has announced the winners of its third edition of the annual science quiz, Synquizitive.

The competition, which was a resounding success with over 200 participating government schools across Bangalore, Dakshin Kannada and Hyderabad, aimed at inspiring curiosity and fostering love for science among young minds from underserved communities.

Designed to promote equitable access to science education and identify young talents with potential for careers in science and technology, Synquizitive saw students from 100 schools in Bangalore, 50 each in Dakshina Kannada and Hyderabad, compete against each other. The winners not only received medals and cash prizes but also qualified for a week-long mentoring session with top scientists.

Among the winners were Government Model Primary School, Nekarara Colony (Bangalore), Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayath Higher Primary School - Sandspit Bengre (Mangalore) and Zilla Parishad High School - Moosapet (Hyderabad). These schools' students showcased exceptional scientific aptitude and problem-solving skills, showcasing the program's impact in shaping young minds.

"I was inspired by this initiative. It opened my mind to possibilities of science. I'm now confident to explore a future in science," said Yashashwini MK, a student participant from Government Model Primary School.

"This initiative has transformed how our students perceive science. They encouraged us to think critically and approach learning with enthusiasm," added Shilpa UB, an educator from Government Model Primary School.

Launched in 2022 in Anekal, Karnataka, Synquizitive has grown exponentially, reaching over 200 government schools across the three cities. Syngene International Ltd., along with Biocon Foundation and Agastya International Foundation, collaborated to provide students with interactive learning sessions and real-world scenarios that fostered critical thinking.
