Goa's Top Performers in Tech: CM Sawant Urges Schools to Foster Interests in Science and Technology
Panaji, March 27, 2025 - In an effort to promote scientific awareness among students, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has urged schools to shift their educational excursions from beaches to science institutions such as the National Institute of Oceanography (NIO) and the National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research (NCPOR), among others.
Sawant made this appeal during the inauguration of the Science Film Festival of India 2025, held at a venue in Panaji. He emphasized that visits to such scientific institutions would not only provide students with a unique learning experience but also inspire them to develop stronger interests in science and technology.
The Chief Minister pointed out that exposure to scientific environments can further enhance students' skills and nurture their interest in crucial fields such as coding and robotics. This is evident of Goa's top performance in these areas, highlighted by Sawant. "Out of the 100 students selected for coding and robotics in India, 22 are Goans," he said. "This makes Goa one of the top-performing states in this sector compared to other states."
By promoting interactive learning experiences, Chief Minister Sawant aims to foster a generation of scientists, engineers, and innovators who will contribute significantly to the country's technological progress. The Science Film Festival of India 2025 will showcase a diverse range of films that highlight the importance of science and technology in everyday life, providing further opportunities for students to engage with scientific concepts.
