Free Drama Therapy Launched for Up to 10 Young People in Northamptonshire
In an effort to boost mental health among young people, a local theatre has partnered with charity KidsAid to launch a free Dramatherapy programme. The 12-week M-Power course is designed specifically for teenagers aged 12-16 and will be hosted at Corby Cube, a popular arts venue in Northamptonshire.
The programme is aimed at providing a safe space for young people to engage with creative therapies such as drama, storytelling, movement, music, and art. By blending these techniques, Dramatherapy aims to support emotional well-being and promote positive mental health outcomes.
Rebecca Caswell-Fox, chief executive officer of KidsAid, announced that the M-Power course is tailored to meet the unique needs of young people. "We are excited to launch this innovative programme that will give our students the opportunity to engage in a safe, familiar space," she said.
