FLYERS, AVALANCHE HONOR JAMES JOHNSTONE IS NOT IN THE ARTICLE BUT ERIK JOHNSON FOR HIS 1,000TH CAREER NHL GAMES

The Philadelphia Flyers and Colorado Avalanche came together to honor a historic milestone in the career of Erik Johnson at their respective arenas on Friday. The defenseman played his 1,000th career NHL game with both teams.

Johnson, who plays for the Avalanche, marked a special occasion by wearing special "1000 Game" jerseys during warm-ups prior to the games against the New Jersey Devils and Florida Panthers respectively.
