Finn Allen Breaks World Record with Blazing 151-Run Knock in MLC 2025

San Francisco, CA - Finn Allen has etched his name in T20 cricket history by breaking Chris Gayle's world record with a majestic 151-run knock in the opening game of the Major League Cricket (MLC) 2025. Playing for San Francisco Unicorns against Washington Freedom at the Oakland Coliseum, Allen achieved this incredible feat off just 51 deliveries, smashing an astonishing 19 sixes and rewriting the record books.

In doing so, Allen surpassed Gayle's existing record of 18 sixes in a single innings, which was achieved by the Universe Boss during his unbeaten 146-run knock in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) final in 2017. Earlier, Finn Allen's record-breaking performance not only made him the player to hit the most sixes in an innings in T20 cricket history but also pushed him into contention for several records.

Finn Allen's strike rate was a staggering 296.08, with 134 of his 151 runs coming from boundaries alone. This phenomenal display earned San Francisco Unicorns a massive total score of 269/4, the highest-ever total in Match League Cricket (MLC) history at this stage. The victory paved the way for Unicorns' successful start to MLC 2025.

"Fin Allen's performance was truly exceptional," stated an ecstatic San Francisco Unicorns coach. “We are proud of him. This record will give us a great boost and we can't wait to see what he does in the games ahead."

While Finn Allen's incredible feat grabbed headlines, other cricketers also caught attention playing valuable supporting roles for their teams.

The MLC 2025 format looks promising as the competition promises fans an enjoyable ride filled with spectacular performances.
