EXCELSON RACES TO SUCCESS: Heritage School Jammu Hosts 20th Annual Sports Day

The Senior Wing of Heritage School Jammu turned into a vibrant hub of energy and excitement as it celebrated its 20th Annual Sports Day today. The event, themed "Citius, Altius, Fortius - Communiter" (Faster, Higher, Stronger – Together), was a grand celebration of athleticism, unity, and school spirit.
Commissioner Secretary Social Welfare, UT of J&K, Sheetal Nanda, and SSP Traffic, Jammu, Faisal Qureshi graced the occasion as chief guest and guest of honour respectively. Other dignitaries present included MLA Poonch, Ajaz Ahmed Jan, Romana Fatima Jan, and Sunil Gupta, Chairman of the school.
The day commenced with a welcome address by School Head Girl Samridhi Gupta, followed by the unfurling of the school flag by Sheetal Nanda. Students displayed their incredible athletic skills in track events, including 100m, 200m, hurdles, and relay races, which earned thunderous applause from the audience.
The event also featured captivating cultural performances, such as a Lezium routine and aerobics, and honoured academic achievements with cash prizes of Rs 10,000 each for students scoring above 90% in AISSE 2023-24 exams. Golden Crests were conferred to students who maintained above 90% for three consecutive years.
Dignity House emerged as the Best House Trophy winner, while Legacy House successfully claimed the best march past contingent trophy. The top sportsperson award went to Puneesh Puri, India's No. 1 Under-14 speed skater, and Manya, a top-ranked rhythmic gymnast.
In her address, Sheetal Nanda praised Heritage School Jammu's dedication to excellence and commended the efforts of students and staff in organizing such a spectacular event. Principal Akash Pradhan delivered a vote of thanks, concluding the day with the National Anthem.
Schools across the region have come out in full force with their energetic displays, showcasing athletic prowess, creativity, and school spirit. As one proud parent stated, "Heritage School Jammu's Annual Sports Day has always been a highlight of our academic year, as it not only showcases our child's talents but also instills teamwork, discipline, and camaraderie."
