Ex-Husband of Karisma Kapoor Dies in UK At 53 Due to Heart Attack

Mumbai: Bollywood actor Karisma Kapoor's ex-husband Sunjay Kapur passed away in the United Kingdom due to a heart attack. He was 53 years old and had served as the Chairman and non-executive director of Sona Comstar, a leading auto parts manufacturer.
Kapur died on June 12 after suffering a heart attack. His death has sent shockwaves in the business world, with the company's market value dipping by 8 percent.
Sona Comstar is a crucial player in India's auto industry, manufacturing key components for electric vehicles (EVs), hybrids, as well as conventional cars that run on diesel and petrol. The company manufactures traction motors and starter motors for EVs and hybrid vehicles, among other parts.
According to sources, China had recently dealt a major blow to Sona Comstar's operations by banning the import of rare earth magnets to India following the recent India-Pakistan military conflict. Despite this hurdle, Sona Comstar has continued to supply vital parts to top Indian carmakers like Maruti Suzuki, Bajaj Auto, and TVS Motors.
The company, which has a market capitalization of over Rs 31,760 crore, had applied for another export license from China after the initial application was rejected. However, it is unclear if this new application will be successful.
Kapur's death has been met with tributes from across the industry, with Sona Comstar describing him as a "visionary leader" who played a key role in building the company into a global mobility technology firm based on innovation, stability, and purpose.
