Eight Killed, Scores Injured in Russian Drone and Missile Attack on Ukrainian Building

KIEV, UKRAINE - A devastating drone and missile assault by Russia on Sunday left at least eight people dead and dozens wounded, in what officials described as the largest attack of its kind in recent months. The strike targeted a nine-story building in Sumy, a city in northern Ukraine, about 40 kilometres from the border with Russia.

According to Ukrainian authorities, two children were among those killed in the attack. Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko confirmed the deaths and described them as "tragic." Over 400 people were evacuated from the building, where rescue teams were frantically searching for anyone who might still be trapped amidst the rubble.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing loud explosions and seeing multiple drones flying towards the targeted area before the attack. The impact of the strike was significant, with widespread damage to the building. The full extent of the casualties is not yet known as rescue efforts continue.
