Dubai Sets to Host 19th World Congress of Neurosurgery in 2025
The event, themed "Connecting the Neurosurgical World", will be held on December 1st to 4th, 2025, and is expected to attract around 4,000 delegates, including key opinion leaders, innovators, and changemakers from the medical field. The congress is a flagship event of the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS), which typically meets every two years.
Dubai has been awarded the hosting rights for this prestigious event, following a successful bid led by the Emirates Society of Neurological Surgeons, supported by Dubai Business Events, the city's official convention bureau and part of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism. This is the first time that Dubai will host one of the most prominent neurosurgery conferences globally.
The World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies has praised Dubai as its ideal destination for this event, citing the city's rapidly growing reputation for hosting international association conferences and congresses. According to the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), Dubai is currently ranked as the highest destination in the Middle East for association events hosted.
According to Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, "The decision by the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies to bring this esteemed event to Dubai is a testament to our city's ongoing growth and development as a hub for knowledge sharing, innovation, and professional development. We are thrilled to welcome luminaries from the field of neuroscience, business leaders, and innovators to Dubai, where they will experience the pinnacle of scientific and technological innovation."
Dubai has been actively working towards enhancing its capabilities in hosting global events, with Business Events serving as a key driver for the city's economic growth and development. The Al Safeer Congress Ambassador Programme is a prime example of this initiative, which identifies potential event destinations, supports local expert engagement, and fosters collaborative efforts between stakeholders.
In an exclusive statement, Dr. Mohamed Al-Olama, President of the Emirates Society of Neurological Surgeons, said, "This conference promises to be a significant milestone in our field, attracting leading neurosurgeon talents from around the world to share their innovative surgical techniques and experiences. We appreciate Dubai's warm hospitality and cutting-edge infrastructure, which will undoubtedly provide us with an unbeatable backdrop for professional networking and growth."
As Dubai gears up for this high-profile event, it highlights its position as a prime global city, pushing the boundaries of scientific innovation, technological advancements, and professional development. With the 2025 World Congress of Neurosurgery set to be a defining moment in the medical calendar, Dubai is well-positioned to cement its reputation as an unrivaled destination for top-class knowledge sharing and collaborative events.
