Dubai, UAE - February 23, 2024 - For the second year in a row, Dubai has emerged as the leading city in the Middle East and Africa according to the '2024 Global City Index' released by Brand Finance. Not only did Dubai maintain its regional dominance, but it also climbed to the fifth position globally, outranking cities like Singapore, Los Angeles, Sydney, San Francisco, and Amsterdam.

The annual report highlighted Dubai's exceptional global reputation, placing it at the forefront ahead of cities like Sydney and London. The city also showed significant improvement in providing local and remote work opportunities, advancing from 24th to 4th place. Furthermore, Dubai's role as an international trade hub and its robust economy were recognized, earning it the title of the world's second-most significant city.

Dubai scored an impressive 86 out of 100 in the index, reflecting its strength across various key performance indicators. This success is attributed to the visionary leadership of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. His son, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, noted that these accomplishments are in line with the strategic objectives of the Dubai Plan 2030, which aims to boost the emirate's global competitiveness.

The city's appeal to investors is further enhanced by its favorable corporate tax policies, future-oriented initiatives, superior education systems, excellent connectivity, and accessible visa policies. These factors not only bolster Dubai's position as a top investment destination but also solidify its leadership in the Middle East and North Africa region.

This recognition from Brand Finance underscores Dubai's ongoing commitment to excellence and its strategic efforts to adapt and thrive in the global economic landscape.
