Dubai-Based Siblings Offer JioHotstar.com Domain to Reliance for Free
Dubai, UAE - In a surprising turn of events, Jainam and Jivika, two young philanthropists from Dubai, have decided to donate the domain JioHotstar.com to Reliance Industries at no cost. The siblings, who initially purchased the domain to assist a Delhi-based developer with his MBA funding, announced their decision on their website, aiming to clarify their intentions and dispel any speculation about commercial interests.
The domain JioHotstar.com came into the spotlight after Jainam and Jivika bought it from a developer who had registered it hoping to sell it to Reliance for ₹1 crore. When Reliance declined the offer, the developer listed the domain elsewhere, leading to its acquisition by the siblings. Their primary motive was to support the developer's educational aspirations, but the domain quickly drew media and public attention, particularly amid rumors of a potential merger between Jio and Hotstar.
Addressing the speculation, Jainam and Jivika stated, "We have received numerous inquiries and even offers to purchase the domain. However, our intention was never to profit from it." They confirmed that they had been approached with substantial monetary offers but chose not to sell, emphasizing their commitment to philanthropy over financial gain.
"Over the past few weeks, there's been considerable speculation about our ownership of the domain and its implications for a business deal between Jio and Hotstar. We want to clarify that our goal was solely to support the developer and to use our platform to promote our seva (service) initiatives," the siblings explained.
In a move to quell the rumors and to act on their humanitarian ethos, Jainam and Jivika have decided to hand over the domain to Reliance for free. "We are offering JioHotstar.com to Reliance without any charge, with all necessary legal formalities in place. This decision is entirely our own, without any influence or pressure from external parties," they affirmed.
The siblings have provided their contact details for Reliance to reach out directly, emphasizing their readiness to facilitate the transfer. Alongside this announcement, they shifted the focus towards their broader mission of global volunteerism through their platform, SevakArmy.com. "Our aim is to inspire 100,000 individuals to volunteer 20 hours a year, resulting in two million hours of service in just the first year," they shared, envisioning a significant impact on NGOs worldwide.
This act of generosity by Jainam and Jivika not only highlights their commitment to altruism but also brings an intriguing chapter in the digital domain saga to a close, redirecting public attention towards their ongoing efforts in global community service.
