Dimapur 24/7 Convenes Groundbreaking Workshop on Education, Mental Health, and Menstrual Hygiene

In a groundbreaking initiative aimed at promoting education, mental well-being, and menstrual hygiene in rural Nagaland, Dimapur 24/7 conducted a highly successful workshop at the Grace Assembly of God Church in Diphupar 'B' village, near 5th Mile.

The event, dubbed "Menstrual Hygiene is Empowerment", brought together locals to discuss the vital role that education and mental health play in empowering women and girls. Chairperson of Dimapur 24/7, Annie Jain, stressed the need for open dialogue and practical solutions to address the stigma and shame associated with menstrual health.

"We have to think beyond just access to sanitary products," Jain emphasized. "Menstrual hygiene is about dignity, empowerment, and creating environments where women feel safe and supported."

Jain also highlighted the progressive measures being implemented in Indian states such as Kerala, Bihar, and Odisha, which allow women under 55 years of age to take leave on their menstrual cycle.

These initiatives demonstrate a growing commitment from states to support women's health and well-being in the workplace. Jain advocated for community awareness and encouraged attendees to prioritize their emotional wellbeing.

The workshop featured Uday Kumar Sah, Executive Member of Dimapur 24/7, who spoke passionately about education as a tool for personal growth and societal upliftment. "Education is not just about securing jobs," he said, "it's about building behavior, character, and contributing to our nation and community."

Sah emphasized the importance of having multiple goals, reducing failure, and adopting alternative plans to ensure a fulfilling life. His words echoed the biblical perspective presented by Allan Aley, also an Executive Member.

The two-day workshop drew large participation from local students, women folk, and community members from Diphupar 'B' village. Organizers at Madan Sharma & Co. and Falguni Enterprise sponsored sanitary pads for the event.

The Dimapur 24/7 team expressed pride in bringing such an impactful platform to rural Nagaland, acknowledging its commitment to providing resources and opportunities that uplift women's lives while sparking meaningful conversations at local levels.
