Diljit Dosanjh Takes Up 'Dry Nation Movement' After Telangana Government's Sudden Notice

In a bold move, popular Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh has proposed a "Dry Nation Movement" in response to the sudden notice issued by the Telangana government asking him to skip songs promoting alcohol, violence, and drugs.

Earlier this month, Dosanjh was set to perform in Hyderabad when he received a notification from the authorities, requesting him not to sing such songs. Despite doing so as a gesture of compliance, Dosanjh took multiple jabs at the government, which didn't sit well with them. However, on his latest concert tour stop in Ahmedabad, Dosanjh made another bold statement.

He decided to release a new song that wasn't linked to alcohol. Instead, he took up a devotional song, clarifying that as the majority of his songs aren't related to consuming liquor, and it makes more sense for him to dedicate himself purely towards religious content after witnessing Gujarat being an entirely dry state.

Furthermore, it's reported that Dosanjh has proposed the establishment of 'Dry Nation Movement' — a campaign that would convince states everywhere in India to prohibit drinking alcohol completely. If successfully implemented, this movement may potentially bring about profound changes throughout our society as well.

As a response to the proposition put forth by Diljit Dosanjh and others who share similar views and perspectives, opinions have been pouring in on all fronts, with many offering their support for Mr. Dasananj's campaign while others are pointing fingers at him due to him singing songs about liquor previously as well.

Dosanjh will conclude his 'Dil-Luminati Tour', after wrapping up a performance in Guwahati next month on December 29.
