Diamond Sports Group Introduces Single-Game Pricing for NBA and NHL Games

Southport, Conn. -- In a move aimed at providing more flexibility to fans, Diamond Sports Group, the nation's largest owner of regional sports networks (RSNs), announced on Tuesday that it will offer single-game pricing for NBA and NHL games starting next month.

According to sources, viewers will now have the option to purchase individual games priced at $6.99 as part of Diamond's direct-to-consumer streaming package set to launch on December 5. Additionally, fans can sign up for monthly or season pass subscriptions.

As a result, Diamond Sports Group will offer direct access to its comprehensive network of RSNs, which includes the rights to 13 NBA and eight NHL teams. In an effort to reinvigorate its offerings, the company has seen significant recent developments in the naming rights of one of its stations being taken over by FanDuel.

The decision marks a pivotal step forward for Diamond as it works towards emerging from bankruptcy proceedings. Having filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in Texas since March of last year, the company aims to regain financial stability. Following extensive negotiations, analysts expect a final hearing on its reorganization plan scheduled for Thursday this week.

The latest news brings into focus the immense debt burden Diamond Sports Group faces with creditors estimated at $8.67 billion as reported by the company.
