Defence Minister Rajnath Singh Questions Pakistan's Nuclear Arsenal

Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir - Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday expressed his concerns about the safety of nuclear weapons in the hands of Pakistan, a country he described as "irresponsible" and "rogue".
Speaking to Indian Army soldiers at the Badami Bagh Cantonment in Srinagar, Singh questioned whether nuclear weapons were safe with such a nation, calling for international supervision through the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). His remarks came during a critical visit to Jammu and Kashmir, his first since Operation Sindoor.
Singh also reviewed the overall security situation in the region, focusing on the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border. He praised troops who participated in cross-border operations against terror infrastructure, describing Operation Sindoor as "the biggest action taken by India against terrorism".
Reiterating the government's commitment to national security and terrorism, Singh acknowledged public response following a recent terror attack in Pahalgam and saluted the people of Jammu and Kashmir for destroying Pakistani military installations. Debris from Pakistani shells dropped in the region was also displayed at the cantonment for Singh to inspect.
The Defence Minister paid tribute to brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives while fighting terrorism and terrorists, as well as civilians killed in the Pahalgam attack. His visit aims to assess the security situation in the region and review ongoing efforts to combat terror infrastructure.
Earlier in his address, Singh highlighted the significance of Operation Sindoor, saying it was not just a name, but India's commitment to defending its nation and taking strong decisions against terrorism.
