DEADLY DRONE MISSILE ATTACK HITS UKRAINE, EIGHT KILLED AND DOZENS INJURED
A devastating drone and missile attack by Russia on Sunday morning has claimed eight lives and left dozens injured, Ukrainian authorities confirmed. The strike targeted a nine-story building in the city of Sumy in northern Ukraine, which is approximately 40 kilometers from the Russian border.
According to Ihor Klymenko, Ukraine's Minister of Internal Affairs, among those who lost their lives were two children. The attack also resulted in over 400 people being evacuated from the damaged building as rescuers searched for anyone still trapped inside.
The severity of the attack has been described by officials as one of the largest in recent months. As the situation unfolds, rescue efforts continue with paramedics checking every apartment in the building to ensure everyone is accounted for and treated.
This latest escalation of violence between Ukraine and Russia raises concerns about the ongoing conflict in eastern Europe, and international leaders have been called upon to condemn the attack and demand an end to hostilities.
