COVID-19 Cases Rise in Thane as Ten Patients Detected Over Past Three Days

A surge in COVID-19 cases has been reported in Thane Municipal Corporation area with ten patients diagnosed over the last three days, official sources revealed on Tuesday.
Municipal Commissioner Saurabh Rao informed that these patients are showing mild symptoms and are being treated at home under close supervision. The civic health department and private hospitals have been instructed to remain vigilant for COVID-19 testing.
In addition, a special 19-bed ward has now been prepared at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital in Kalwa. Moreover, the hospital has made operational its RTPCR testing facilities to deal with any potential outbreaks.
According to Chief Medical Officer Chetana Nitil, the ten patients diagnosed are being closely monitored and their medical conditions remain stable. The health centre has adequate stock of medicines as well as testing kits to manage the situation.
The news comes at a time when health experts have been cautioning about possible COVID-19 surge in various parts of the country.
