Central Team to Assess Diarrhoea Outbreak in Jajpur District

Bhubaneswar, [Date] – The Odisha government has decided to send a 14-member Central team to Jajpur district tomorrow to assess the diarrhoea outbreak that has affected several regions in the district. Following the visit, the team will provide expert guidance to the state and local authorities to identify the causes of the outbreak and prevent further spread of the disease.
TheCentral health assessment team, comprising experts from various fields, includes Dr. Nilam Somalkar, Regional Director, Dr. Shivani Lahiri, Professor, Indian Public Health Standards, Dr. Srujan Mohanty, Microbiologist, AIIMS Bhubaneswar, and other qualified doctors. They will be assisted by a 7-member health team, a 3-member food safety team, and a 4-member team from the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) to evaluate food quality in the region.
The teams are divided into three groups to efficiently cover all affected areas. Upon completion of their assessment, the Central team will submit their report to the Odisha government, providing recommendations for effective control strategies to tackle the outbreak.
This development comes amid growing concerns over a rising number of diarrhoea cases reported from various regions in Jajpur district, prompting the government to take swift action. By sending a Central team to evaluate the situation and provide expert advice, the Odisha government is hoping to prevent further spread of the disease.
