Can Elon Musk Become US President? Donald Trump Says No
Washington: In an address to a Republican conference in Phoenix, Arizona on Sunday, US President-elect Donald Trump addressed the prospect of Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk becoming the US President. Citing US Constitution requirements that a president be a natural-born US citizen, Trump stated confidently, "He's not gonna be president, that I can tell you."
Born in South Africa, Musk has taken on significant roles in the incoming administration, including the position of "efficiency czar." This appointment has sparked criticism and accusations from the Democratic camp, who argue that an unelected individual wielding such power poses a potential threat to democracy.
Trump was responding to growing scrutiny over his team's ties to Musk. Despite the billionaire's enormous wealth and influence, Trump assured the crowd, "No, no that's not happening." Musk is already set to play a central role in the new administration, and it remains to be seen how this unusual arrangement will unfold.
