The zoo has witnessed lakhs of visitors, each year, including families with children who find the place utterly enchanting. Even as the news about losing Anarkali spread, enthusiastic tourists visited her empty enclosure at Byculla Zoo to feel the void left and catch glimpses of bygone era.
