Buttler's Blistering 83 Leads England to Series Dominance Over West Indies

Bridgetown, Barbados - England's Jos Buttler delivered a masterclass in power hitting, scoring a rapid 83 off just 45 balls, to steer England to a commanding seven-wicket victory against West Indies in the second T20 International at Kensington Oval, Barbados.

The England skipper, stepping in after Phil Salt was dismissed on the very first ball of the innings, unleashed a barrage of eight fours and six sixes, setting the tone for England's chase. His explosive innings included a significant 129-run partnership with Will Jacks, which was eventually broken when both fell to Romario Shepherd in the same over.

Despite the quick dismissals, England's momentum was unstoppable, comfortably reaching West Indies' total of 158-8 with 31 balls still in hand. This win puts England 2-0 up in the five-match series, having now secured victories in both games played in Barbados. The team will next travel to St Lucia for the remaining matches.

On the batting front for West Indies, the innings was a struggle initially, slumping to 35-3 early on. Captain Rovman Powell attempted a recovery, scoring a brisk 43 before being bowled by Dan Mousley, leaving the score at a precarious 102-6. It was the late surge from Romario Shepherd, Matthew Forde, and debutant Terrance Hinds that pushed the score past 150, but it proved insufficient against Buttler's onslaught.

With England now firmly in the driver's seat, the focus shifts to St Lucia where the series is set to conclude. The home side will need to regroup and find a strategy to counter England's aggressive batting, particularly if Buttler maintains his devastating form.
