Bumrah Surpasses Ashwin's All-Time Rating Points Record

Mumbai (PTI): Indian pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah has climbed to a new benchmark of 907 rating points in the latest ICC rankings, topping Ravichandran Ashwin's all-time highest rating points. The achievement marks a personal triumph for Bumrah while positioning him seventh in the list of bowlers with the most overall earnings.

Bumrah took nine wickets during India's recent loss at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), playing a crucial role in earning additional ranking points. This improvement helped him move above Ashwin's preceding best rating of 904, which he achieved in December 2016.

Tied on the 17th place list are Bumrah and England's Derek Underwood as they share his impressive feat. The remarkable increase marks another milestone for the dynamic fast bowler, currently ranked as India's top Test bowler globally.

Australian captain Pat Cummins broke into the top three in the rankings after gaining significant ranking points following a six-wicket haul during the Boxing Day test match against West Indies at the MCG.
