Bumrah Nominated as Greatest All-Format Fast Bowler: Clarke

Australian cricket legends are often quick to praise his abilities over Indian pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah has been hailed the greatest all-format fast bowler by former Australian captain Michael Clarke after his impressive performances in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The star Indian pacer took 32 wickets at 13.06 with an incredible strike rate of 28.3 across five Tests.

Clarke was full of praise for Bumrah's skills, stating that he thinks the Indian pace spearhead might be the best fast bowler ever to play all three formats. Bumrah was in scintillating form throughout the series, proving his mettle against various conditions and formats of cricket.

Clarke recalled how close India came to winning the series-deciding Sydney Test had Bumrah bowled a spell in Australia's second innings with more runs on the board. "I reckon India were probably 20 runs short (in Sydney)," he said. He also stressed that having Bumrah in the side would have made all the difference.

However, it is not possible to replicate that kind of brilliance, especially considering the high standard set by others among Australia's fast bowlers like Curtly Ambrose and Glenn McGrath who did not play T20 cricket.

Clarke acknowledged that India's other pacers performed below par compared to Bumrah. Mohammed Siraj, for instance, came up with 20 scalps at a relatively high average of 31.15

The impressive displays by Bumrah have raised his profile even further as he continues to be the most in-demand overseas talent in world cricket and is widely regarded as one of the best fast bowlers of his generation.
