Breaking News: Vasai Jewellery Store Robbed at Gunpoint, Owner Hurt

In a shocking incident, a jewellery store in Vasai was robbed at gunpoint on Friday night, leaving the owner injured. Two unidentified men stole 50 tolas of gold jewellery, worth approximately Rs 40 lakh, from Mayank Jewellers at around 9:15 pm.

The owner, Ratanlal Sanghvi, was packing up when the two men arrived on a motorcycle, overpowering him and making off with the valuables. Police have registered an FIR against the duo, who are still at large.

Meanwhile, eight people, including seven accused in the murder of Santosh Deshmukh, the sarpanch of Massajog in Beed district, have been booked under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA.

The crime was committed in an attempt to silence Santosh Deshmukh over his alleged involvement in local politics. The accused faced multiple rounds of interrogation before succumbing to pressure and giving a confessional statement.
