Box Office Showdown: War 2 Faced with Clashing Schedules as Coolie Hits Theaters Around Independence Day Weekend

Hyderabad, Telangana - In a potentially explosive turn of events for Indian cinema, two massive films may come head-to-head at the box office when they are released around the same time next year. Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR's YRF action-thriller "War 2" is set to hit theaters on August 14, 2025. Sources close to production confirm that Aamir Khan-starrer Rajinikanth film, "Coolie", directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, will also be released during the same Independence Day weekend.

"70% of Coolie's shooting has been completed with the remaining shoot scheduled from January 13 to 28," revealed an insider. Initially announced for a summer 2025 release, the big-budget drama seems to have been rescheduled for an August debut. Given this new date conflict, Rajinikanth starrer could now go head-to-head with Hrithik Roshan's latest offering.

"We will definitely keep fans in mind," said the source about the upcoming rivalry. Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has made a special appearance in "Coolie", reuniting with his long-time colleague, Rajinikanth. The movie boasts an all-star cast including Nagarjuna and Upendra alongside the two leading men.
