Bokaro Secures State-Level Tribal Sports Championship Title

Jamshedpur, Dec 27: The second day of the state-level tribal sports competition at JRD Tata Sports Complex culminated in an exciting football final between Bokaro and Seraikela, with Bokaro emerging as the champion. The team's victory marks a triumphant moment for the Vanvasi Kalyan Kendra, the organization behind the tournament.

Bokaro's football team will now represent the state at the 24th National Tribal Sports Meet to be held in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, from December 28 to 31. This prestigious event is set to witness participation from various states across India, including northeastern regions and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Nepal's tribal players will also be competing at this tournament.

A grand closing ceremony saw the presence of former Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Shri Arjun Munda, as the chief guest, along with Vice-Chancellor of Jamshedpur Women's University, Prof. (Dr.) Anjila Gupta, who was the distinguished guest. Both dignitaries presented trophies and medals to the winning and runner-up teams, while extending their good wishes to the players.

Notable guests at the ceremony included Regional Organization Minister Vinod Upadhyay, international handball coach Dr. Hasan Imam Malik, ASIA President Inder Agarwal, and others who contributed individual awards for Best Goalkeeper, Best Scorer, and Best Player of the tournament, along with trophies and cash prizes.

Former Chief Minister Arjun Munda emphasized the abundance of sports talent in Jharkhand, highlighting the importance of providing players with a suitable platform to showcase their skills. He wished all the players luck and success on their future endeavors.

The event was coordinated by program convenor Sura Birouli, with State Minister Vineet Kumar delivering a vote of thanks address. The ceremony was attended by prominent members of Vanvasi Kalyan Kendra, including Regional Organization Ministers Devnandan Singh and Sushil Marandi, Doman Chandra Mahato, Amitabh Senapati, Rohit Kumar, Ruby Gautam, Ramnath Singh, Bhattu Mandi, and numerous dedicated volunteers.
