Bluey to Star in Strictly Come Dancing for BBC Children In Need
In a delightful crossover, the beloved animated Australian puppy, Bluey, is set to make an appearance on the iconic Strictly Come Dancing ballroom floor as part of the BBC Children In Need appeal show. Known for her playful antics on her own television series, Bluey will bring her unique dance moves like the mashed potato, alligator, and the floss to entertain viewers and encourage donations.
Bluey, who has captured hearts worldwide since her show's debut in 2018, will be joined by a stellar lineup of Strictly professionals including Dianne Buswell, Nadiya Bychkova, Neil Jones, Gorka Marquez, Johannes Radebe, and Michelle Tsiakkas.
The charity event, broadcast live from Salford, will be co-hosted by Paralympian Ade Adepitan, comedians Mel Giedroyc and Chris Ramsey, radio presenter Vernon Kay, former The Saturdays singer Rochelle Humes, and Bafta TV award winner Lenny Rush.
Neil Jones, one of the professional dancers, expressed his excitement about the unique collaboration, stating, “Many stars have taken to the ballroom over the years but this is next level. I can’t think of any other better occasion for us to say G’day to Bluey than for BBC Children In Need. It’s going to be Fab-Blue-Lous!”
Sam Moor from Ludo Studio, the creators of Bluey, added, “We are so privileged to have Bluey invited onto the Strictly dancefloor to share some of her iconic dance moves. Our animators have done an awesome job to bring her into the glittering glamour of the Strictly world and we can’t wait for fans of both shows to enjoy the moment on the Children In Need night.”
Viewers are encouraged to join in with Bluey’s Dance Mode Challenge, contributing to the cause through a digital piggy bank. A special behind-the-scenes look at Bluey’s dance will also be featured on the Strictly spin-off show, It Takes Two, airing at 6:30 pm on Thursday on BBC Two.
The 2023 BBC Children In Need appeal show, featuring this exciting dance number, will be broadcast at 7 pm on Friday on both BBC One and BBC iPlayer, promising an evening of fun, entertainment, and charitable giving.
